Don Barker: Writer and Futurist

Senior editor for PC AI Magazine and a Columnist for BotSpot, Don takes you on a journery into the future of intelligent agents and bots in his popular columns Secret Agent Man and Best of the Bots. He is the author of over 16 college textbook including the first books on expert systems, business graphing, Microsoft Windows, Netscape Navigator, and Internet Explorer. Don was a member of the three-person team who developed DIALOG1, the first intelligent tutoring system (ITS) to teach critical thinking with a Socratic dialogue. This ITS is being used in schools across the U.S. and in Europe. His work is also included in the milestone book Philosophy and the Computer. In addition, he won the prestigious Best Theoretical Paper Award from the International Business Schools Computer Users Group for his work in artificial intelligence.
