ALife-BotMail

From Press Reports

Artificial Life, Inc. has announced the launch of its ALife-BotMail technology by its Artificial Life Mobile Computing subsidiary. ALife-BotMail allows senders to deliver an interactive character (intelligent bot) that can converse with the recipients and intelligently present the contents of the email instead of sending a plain document.

ALife-BotMail incorporates Artificial Life's SmartEngine technology, which allows users to interact with the bot using any natural language. Based on information gathered from the recipient through the course of the conversation, the bot can then suggest specific products or services to purchase and display relevant web pages.

"Over the next years, the volume of marketing messages sent through email is expected to increase dramatically. As consumers get inundated with these emails, their attention is sure to diminish... that is where BotMail comes in to deliver value to the marketer" said Eberhard Schöneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, Inc.

"Because of the interactivity of the bot and its ability to draw from a customer's profile, a more consultative and flexible sell can be conducted. In addition, the bot can provide a cost effective and unobtrusive means of gaining feedback on specific products and services," Schöneburg added.

Marketers can use ALife-BotMail to deliver an intelligent, interactive, and interesting message to current and prospective customers.
Targeted marketing is one potential value, as an ALife-BotMail character can introduce pre-defined topics into the conversation to promote products and services, to introduce specials, and to increase company awareness. Based on the answers it receives by asking questions of the recipient, BotMail can perform a product or sales analysis to determine if there is site for the customer to enter any required information to confirm their purchase.

Using Video BotMail, more branding can be achived. An ALife-BotMail avatar can be an animated character of any appearance. The bot character can even be an avatar generated from video images of an actual person, which opens the possibility, for example, for celebrities, as well as non-human branded characters, to be brought to life in a way never before possible on the web.

Artificial Life recognizes that marketers need to utilize customer information across marketing campaigns - be it direct mail, call center functions, or advertising campaigns. BotMail can use feedback acquired from the recipient to validate and update customer profiles to be used in subsequent marketing efforts. Additionally, all conversations are stored and can be used by marketers to enhance such campaigns and learn about customer needs.

ALife's SmartEngine is designed to work with any known human language, according to the company. An ALife-BotMail character and smart bot can even switch languages mid-conversation. So far, ALife and its customers have built bots that speak English, German, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
