Odyssey
|
Odyssey is a set of Java class libraries. When
incorporated in your network application, the libraries
enable you to erect agent-accessible places in your
network, to station agents in those places, and to let
agents travel between places whenever they need to.
Odyssey is transport-independent. Whenever an agent
travels from one place to another, Odyssey calls upon a
transport API designed by General Magic for that purpose.
Odyssey comes complete with implementations of the API for
Sun's Remote Method Invocation (RMI), the OMG's Internet
Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP), abd Microsoft's Distributed
Component Object Model (DCOM).

Open Knowledge Base Connectivity
|
Open Knowledge Base Connectivity (OKBC) is an application
programming interface for accessing knowledge bases stored
in knowledge representation systems (KRSs). OKBC provides
an uniform model of KRSs based on a common
conceptualization of classes, individuals, slots, facets,
and inheritance. OKBC is defined in a programming language
independent fashion, and has existing implementations in
Common Lisp, Java and C. The protocol transparently
supports networked as well as direct access to KRSs and
knowledge bases.
