The Good News About News Bots

With no options on its search tools, and with the smallest number of related stories resulting from its searches, InfoJunkie is merely an adequate bot.

Its home page features five main categories: news, business, sports, entertainment, and technology, with links to related stories. But with no information on how to use its search tools, and no obvious search options beyond basic keywords, InfoJunkie is lacking.

We did like the way the bot listed news stories on Al Gore by time of day - the top stories came via Yahoo! and FoxNews. While it found 97 articles related to "Al Gore," it was the only bot that came up completely empty on our "recycling" and "Schulz." topics.

On the other hand, when we searched for "Charles Schulz," the bot gave us lots of stories about guys named "Charles."  This is a standard way of framing a search and there are no search instructions available to help you refine the search more.

In addition, the bot only searches articles from the last day or so.  As a result, you'll find some useful articles on this site, but the other bots give you more control and more stories.
