| Gaming fans will love Mission Risk. It's a fast-moving version of the classic board game, Risk, brought to the PC. Pit yourself against the computer or up to 5 human players in a local network, in a battle for world domination.
To refresh your memory, the aim of Mission Risk is quite simply to conquer the world, region by region, by strategically placing your armies and waging war on your neighbors. Battles are decided by the roll of electronic dice, that are weighted to reflect the strength of each protagonist. On the game screen, see the different-colored armies progress across the globe, or be forced to retreat, as the battles unfold.
Mission Risk has simple and clear graphics that are similar to those of the board game, and a clearly written 'Help' section where you can quickly familiarize yourself with the options at your disposal. The 'Fast War' mode speeds up the actions of the computer armies, so your turn comes around again quickly! You can also send secret messages to other players in the network, giving the possibility of teaming up to defeat a common enemy - but beware allies of circumstance! And of course, you can play the game on your own or with friends. All these little things make the computer version of Mission Risk a nice alternative to the board game.
There's a good mix of strategy and chance involved in Mission Risk. Your future hangs on the roll of the dice, but at the end of the day it is you who decides where and when to wage battle, and how to organize your defense. It's compelling, addictive fun - and 100% virtual.
