| If it's time for a change… here are some playful virtual characters from Oska
Educational Systems whose cartoon-style animations bring a touch of humor and color to
your desktop. OK, so they don't actually do anything useful, but they're cute, fun,
and provide a change of pace from the rest of life in front of a computer screen.
When you're in need of a break, you could be pleasantly surprised to find a character
ambling across the screen, goofing around and generally seeking attention. Suddenly,
you're deep in the world of "Mask" and "Who killed Roger Rabbit?". The animations
follow closely on from each other, using the classic principles of the cartoon: holes
in the floor, wacky gags...
The characters all share the same humor and dynamism; they include Oska, a little
gray koala, and TeeCee, a zany blue gorilla. For example, you can admire TeeCee
swinging from vine to vine, pretending to be a samurai, or sprinting madly from side
to side.
The same publisher also produces cartoon characters for adults that go by the name of
Kahli, Tahni and the latest addition, Maeka. She is a feisty warrior woman who has
only one objective: to defend the world against the forces of evil that are invading
it. Using her magic powers, her phenomenal force and charm, Maeka takes up the combat
directly from the computer desktop.
You can download one or all of the characters, and switch between them. In each case,
the characters can be tried out for free, but with a limited number of animations.
Upgrade them by going for the registered versions, that have hundreds of animations
and special effects. These animated characters are a neat way to break the monotony of
the screen and bring a smile to your face.
